Scoring goals wasn’t a problem for Peabody’s girls lacrosse team, which defeated Gloucester by a dozen goals (13-1) Monday. Ally Bettencourt, Brooke Lomasney, Ari Alvarado, and Alexia Morris all scored twice. It was a “total team effort,” according to Head Coach Michelle Roach, whose Tanners moved to 4-2 and 4-1 in the Northeastern Conference. Madi Barrett, Lomasney, Kassis, and Alvarado all picked up at least one assist.

Behind a four-goal, three-assist performance from Maddie Forbes, Marblehead’s girls lacrosse team (4-4, 2-2 Northeastern Conference) worked its magic against Peabody, 11-10, with Forbes netting the game-winning goal with three seconds remaining in the game.
“It was an incredible game and we are proud of how our girls showed grit and resiliency from start to finish,” said Marblehead Coach Annie Madden.
Molly Bullard made 11 saves, while Zoe Dwyer (3 goals, assist), Gretchen Smith (goal, 2 assists), Kathryn Commoss (2 goals, 2 assists), and Ramona Gillett (goal) rounded out the Marblehead offense.
Peabody’s offense was led by Brooke Lomasney (6 goals, assist), Madi Barrett (goal), Ally Bettencourt (2 goals, assist), Victoria Vaz (goal), and Ari Alvarado. Sophia Galbiati and Sydney Angland played well defensively, according to Coach Michelle Roach, while netminder Caitlin Snow made 11 saves.

It was a game to forget for the Tanners. With two outs, Melrose scored six runs in the second inning to gain all of the momentum.
“We didn’t recover,” Coach Mark Bettencourt said.
Peabody received five hits from Noah Crocker, Jake Crocker, Jayden Cunningham, Luke Maglione, and Ethan Waybret, who registered the team’s only RBI.

In a five-inning mercy, Peabody’s Max Silvia pitched a complete game and allowed just four hits, two walks, and two earned runs to go with five punchouts. The offense was led by Noah (3-for-4, 2 2B, 5 RBI) and Jake Crocker (2-for-2, 2 RBI, 3 R).

The Prep (8-0) remained perfect with a five-goal win against host Falmouth after trailing by two goals early. The Eagles tucked six unanswered goals and took a 7-4 halftime lead.
Beckett Lee (3 goals, assist), Luke Kelly (3 goals), and Ryan McCarthy (2 goals) led the offense, while Jack Weissenburger (4 ground balls, 3 caused turnovers) shined defensively.
