Peabody’s Brooke Lomasney scored four goals and dished out an assist as the girls lacrosse Tanners exploded offensively to clip the Danvers Falcons, 14-0. Also contributing were Madi Barrett (2 goals, 2 assists), Ally Bettencourt (2 goals), Bella Kassis (2 goals, assist), Ariana Alvarado (goal, assist), Victoria Vaz (goal, 2 assists), Leah Bresnahan (goal, assist), Brianna Symonds (goal), and Caitlin Snow (4 saves).
“Strong showing in our opener,” said Peabody Coach Michelle Roach, fresh off the girls hockey season when she coached the Peabody-Lynnfield-North Reading co-op. “It was a total team effort. I saw a lot of positives, especially with incorporating what we have been working on the last couple weeks in practice. I’m looking forward to seeing what this group does in the weeks ahead.”

The Crusaders won a narrow game against Bishop Feehan Monday evening. Fenwick got a strong performance from Breanna Genzale, who netted four goals. Molly Sullivan (goal, assist), Hannah Bettencourt (goal, 2 assists), Kiley Bloom (assist), and Nieve Bachman (assist) all played well in the win.
In addition to the offense playing well, Crusaders’ Coach Jill Robinson praised her team’s defense.
“Great defense by Meghan Eastman, Olivia Watson, and Cori McMeniman,” Robinson said.
In net, Courtney McKenzie made nine saves to earn the win.

Twelve goals from 10 players did the trick for the Eagles. Although the Eagles showed they have plenty of weapons on offense, they showed they’re just as strong on the defensive end.
“Defensively, Danny Magoon and JP Sullivan helped hold Malden Catholic to two shots on goal for the game,” said Coach John Pynchon.

Peabody’s Aiden Haight made 15 saves and his Tanners took down visiting Danvers by a pair of goals. Jaden Kritikos (2 goals), Derek Collins, Tyson Higgins, Mason Clickstein, and Anthony Costanzo scored Peabody’s goals.

Fenwick took care of business on the road with the game ending in a fifth-inning mercy. Leading the Lady Crusaders were Viv Fortin (5 IP, 6 H, 2 BB, 2 ER, K), Lulu Dias (2 H, 2 RBI), Val Tate (2 H, 2 RBI), and Kaylee Sjursen (3 RBI).
“Great defense by Natasha O’Brien and Katie O’Brien, as well as Sophia Poto,” said Fenwick Coach Brian Seabury.
TRACK AND FIELD
The St. John’s Prep track and field team began its spring 2-0 with home wins against BC High (95-41) and Catholic Memorial (105-36) Saturday morning. Nine Eagles won their events.
First-place finishers were Lincoln Massaro (110m hurdles), Andrew McManmon (200m), Caden Rogovich (400m), Noah Kabel (400m hurdles), Daniel Padley (800m), Henry McDonnell (mile), Andrew Bertucci (high jump), Kye McClory (javelin), and Gael Garcia (shot put).
The Prep hosts Xaverian Tuesday at 4 p.m.
