Senate Assistant Majority Leader Joan B. Lovely (D-Salem) is pleased to announce that the North of Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau, which serves the Second Essex District, has received a $781,337.90 grant through the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism’s FY25 Regional Tourism Council Grant Program. The grant is designed to foster tourism development, support local economies, and enhance Massachusetts’ standing as a premier travel destination.
This competitive grant program, funded through the Commonwealth’s Tourism Trust Fund, provides financial support to regional tourism councils across Massachusetts, allowing them to expand their reach in promoting tourism, conventions, travel, and recreation. The funding will strengthen tourism initiatives in the North of Boston region, drawing more visitors and benefiting local businesses.
“The North of Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau plays a key role in highlighting our area’s unique traditions, attractions, and culture,” Lovely said. “I want to thank the Healey-Driscoll administration for making this funding available to bring tourists and visitors to the area, boosting our local economy, and celebrating what makes our communities special.”
