Bishop Fenwick’s junior girls placed second and fourth in the Frank Kelley Invitational on Saturday, with Marianna Kay catching eyes with a fourth-place finish at the Wrentham Development Center.
According to Fenwick coach Fred Doyle, Kay was leading the pack throughout the 3K race until the final 400 meters. Caroline Blatchford also medaled in 18th, followed by Mireille Climenson (38th), Kelsey Boe (58th), and Nora Bonner (61st).
King Philip took the cake as a team. Truth be told, Fenwick was without Julia Davis (calf injury), who typically runs with Kay.
Fenwick’s sophomore girls placed fourth behind medalists Adelaide Sweatman (5th) and Olivia Rowe (13th). Team-scorers included Amanda Moric (48th), Mikayla Micieli (93rd), and Noelle Waterman (102nd).
On the boys’ side, Fenwick’s juniors raced to a third-place finish after a fine showing from medalist Sam Appleyard (21st). He was followed by twin brother Doron (35th), John Reilly (39th), Nondas Lagonakis (54th), and Liam Sullivan (66th).
