InkWell is a free afterschool youth arts program exploring a variety of 2D and 3D media. There’s no experience necessary and all materials will be provided. Bringing in sketchbooks is encouraged. Middle School classes meet in the Creativity Lab on Wednesdays from 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. starting on Sept. 18. High School classes meet in the Creativity Lab on Mondays from 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. starting on Sept. 16. Classes are free, but we do ask for a strong commitment to the program. The program runs until Dec. 12, in which each class will be celebrated with an end of the year art show, inviting the families to see all the artwork they’ve been creating.
All classes will be taught by local artist Bruce Orr. Orr is an art teacher, art therapist, muralist, illustrator, puppeteer, builder from recycled materials and all-around arts advocate. He is finishing a large-scale arts installation for the city of Beverly in an empty storefront, has painted many local murals, and was Senior Art Therapist at Raw Art Works for 13 years before founding InkWell. With more than 25 years’ experience, Orr is a strong believer in the arts as a catalyst for growth, healing and change.
This program is free and open to the public, but space is limited and registration is required. To reserve a free spot, please register online, by calling 978-531-0100 or stop by in person.
