You know what I’ve been thinking? It’s been quite the spring for Peabody’s Brooke Lomasney, and the last seven days have been no different.
Just last month, the junior captain eclipsed the girls lacrosse program’s career point record (252), one that stood for seven years.
And, spoiler alert, she hasn’t settled since.
The past three games have been full of goal celebrations for Lomasney and company. It started Monday, May 6 in a 10-5 win against Swampscott – a dominant program in its own right. She scored six goals and dished out three assists.
Not even 24 hours later, in a 13-1 thrashing of Danvers, she secured another four goals and two assists. Then, as Peabody rounded out the week with a 15-6 win against Marblehead, she went home with another three goals and two helpers – a quiet evening, for her standards.
The perfect week catapulted the Tanners to an 11-2 record, and they still haven’t lost in the Northeastern Conference (11-0).
After taking care of Beverly on Monday, it’s Gloucester, Saugus, Ipswich, and Acton-Boxborough to round out the month.
Brooke, good week.
