You know what I’ve been thinking? Peabody’s baseball team has won seven consecutive games, upping its record to 10-2 through the first week of May. As for a big reason why, look no further than Cam Connolly.
From late-game heroics, to pitching gems, and to his near-perfect batting percentage, the Tanner did it all across three wins this week.
It started Monday, April 29 in a 6-5 victory over Melrose. He went 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored – on top of retiring the final two Melrose batters.
But Tuesday was the big one for Connolly and company. In a narrow 1-0 final over Gloucester, he hit a walkoff home run to right field in the bottom of the eighth inning.
Ballgame.
Plus, the left-handed pitcher (3 H, 5 K, 1 BB) picked up the complete-game shutout for his fourth win of the spring.
And in Friday’s 3-0 win over Swampscott, the Man of the Hour broke through a pitchers’ duel with another three hits.
Cam, good week.
