Peabody Police Logs May 19 – 26

Monday, May 19

Alarms

A burglar alarm was reported at 1 Locksley Road at 7:55 a.m. Officers determined it was accidental. Later, a fire alarm at 335 Market St. was confirmed as accidental due to work being done on-site.

Animal Control

An animal complaint was reported at 35 Perry Ave. where a dog ran outside during construction work. The Animal Control Officer was notified.

Arrests/Summonses

A juvenile was arrested at 275 Essex St. for criminal harassment.

Landen Campbell, 42, of Brockton, will be summoned for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle after failing to return a rental car to Avis at 1 Newbury St.

Assist Citizens

Officers assisted citizens throughout the day, including walk-in reports for property disputes and lost items. At 45 Washington St., officers assisted with a property retrieval dispute. A stolen phone was recovered and returned to its owner at 12 Walden Hill Drive.

Building/Property Checks

Officers conducted property and area checks at multiple locations, including the Boston Muslim Cemetery, Beth El Cemetery, Forest Hill Cemetery, and various residential streets, with no issues found.

Disturbances

Officers responded to a disturbance at 2 Lowe St., where tenants were reported for stomping and disturbing neighbors. Officers spoke to involved parties, but no resolution was reached.

E-911 Hangups

Several 911 hangups occurred throughout the day. Each was investigated and found to be accidental or no assistance was needed.

Juvenile Offenses

A juvenile was arrested at 275 Essex St. for criminal harassment.

Motor Vehicles

Officers conducted multiple motor vehicle stops, issuing warnings for equipment violations and other infractions. Minor accidents were also reported and documented, including one at 505 Main St. involving a vehicle that was sideswiped.

Parking Enforcement

At 4 Perkins St., officers addressed a parking complaint and had the vehicle moved. Later, multiple vehicles were towed for parking violations across the city, including Foster Street, Main Street, and Washington Street.

Property Damage

A hit-and-run occurred at 21 Sutton St, where a black pickup with a trailer struck a pole and left the scene. Officers documented the incident and cited the operator for leaving the scene of property damage.

Road Conditions

A water main break was reported at 980 Salem St., and the DPW was notified to address the situation.

Suspicious Activity

Officers checked on a suspicious vehicle at 17 Pocahontas Way, which turned out to belong to a worker at the residence. Another suspicious incident at 1 Nichols Ext involved a party trying to enter a home; a report was taken.

Tuesday, May 20

Alarms

A carbon monoxide alarm was reported at 11 Willis Lane, confirmed accidental by the homeowner turning on the sprinkler system. A fire alarm at 900 Market St. was set off accidentally by workmen.

Animal Control

A suspicious auto call at 8 Grant Road was investigated, but the vehicle was gone on arrival.

Assist Citizens

Officers responded to multiple calls, including helping with a property damage report at 1 Laurel Road for fraud and a neighbor dispute at 2 Locksley Road.

Building/Property Checks

Officers performed numerous area and property checks throughout the town, including Wildewood Dr, North Broadway, and Essex St., with no issues found.

Disturbances/Neighbor Issues

A disturbance was reported at 2 Locksley Road involving neighbors. Officers spoke to involved parties and documented the incident.

Motor Vehicles

Officers conducted multiple traffic stops throughout the day, issuing verbal warnings for equipment violations and other infractions. Officers also responded to a motor vehicle accident at 511 Walnut St. involving a 2004 Nissan Sentra and a 2021 Lexus.

Parking/Disabled Vehicles

One disabled vehicle was reported at 1100 Main St., but the operator was able to move it to the side of the road without issue.

Suspicious Activity

A suspicious vehicle reported at 8 Grant Road was investigated and found to be gone on arrival.

Wednesday, May 21

Alarms

A burglar alarm was investigated at 425 Walnut St., where everything was in order.

Assist Citizens

Officers assisted a resident on Summer Street after an unattended death was discovered. Additionally, property checks and lift assists were carried out throughout the day.

Building/Property Checks

Officers performed several checks on properties across Lynnfield, including sites like King Rail Drive, Oak Street, Ross Drive, and Wildewood Drive. All locations were secure with no issues found.

Disturbances/Neighbor Issues

A disturbance between neighbors was reported at 2 Locksley Road, and officers took a report for further documentation.

Motor Vehicles

Selective traffic enforcement was conducted at various locations, resulting in verbal warnings for minor infractions such as red light and equipment violations.

Suspicious Activity

A suspicious vehicle was reported at 8 Grant Road but was gone on arrival.

Traffic Stops

Throughout the day, officers issued several verbal warnings for minor traffic violations, including equipment issues and failure to stop at red lights.

Unattended Death

Officers responded to an unattended death on Summer St., where a friend found the deceased person. Officers documented the scene for further investigation.

Thursday, May 22

Arrests/Summonses

Deiviton Santos Francisco, 33, of Peabody, will be summoned for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license after a stop near Bavaro Liquors.

Landen Campbell, 42, of Brockton, will be summoned for unauthorized use of a rental vehicle from Avis Car Rental.

Juan Vinicio Mendez Romero, 32, of Lynn, will be summoned for leaving the scene of property damage after a hit-and-run incident at 21 Sutton St.

Emmanuel Jemy Paul, 22, of Malden, will be summoned for number plate concealment, operating an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle near Wiseman Drive.

Alarms

Officers responded to multiple burglar alarms throughout the day. Sites included Bosun’s Marine, Sullivan Tire, BMW of Peabody, and Trammell Crow. Each location was checked and found secure. At 10 Keys Drive, a fire alarm was resolved by the Fire Department.

Animal Control

Animal Control responded to 2 Dooling Circle to scan a stray cat for a microchip, which was not found. Arrangements were made with a rescue organization to take custody. Later, officers attempted to serve a Dangerous Dog Hearing at 3 Andover Dr.

Assist Citizens

Officers assisted residents with various concerns, including retrieving property, neighborhood disputes, and lost property reports. At 12 Walden Hill Drive, a stolen phone was recovered and returned to its owner.

Building/Property Checks

Officers conducted area and property checks throughout the city, including at the Boston Muslim Cemetery, Beth El Cemetery, Bishop Fenwick High School, and the Holiday Inn, with no issues reported.

Disturbances

At 2 Lowe St., tenants were reported for stomping loudly but refused to engage with officers. A separate noise complaint at 75 Prospect St. involved construction workers who agreed to quiet down for the night.

E-911 Hangups

Officers responded to several 911 hangups, including those from Collins Street, Webster Street, and CVS Pharmacy at 79 Lynnfield St. All were found to be accidental or no emergency.

Motor Vehicles

Officers conducted several traffic stops, issuing written warnings or citations for equipment violations and other infractions. A disabled vehicle near St. Thomas the Apostle Church was reported to AAA. A minor accident at 50 Margin St. was investigated and involved minor injuries.

Parking Enforcement

At 4 Perkins St., officers addressed a parking complaint and had the vehicle moved. Parking enforcement also oversaw multiple tows throughout the city, including Foster St., Main St., and Washington Street, resulting in 28 vehicles towed in total.

Suspicious Activity

Officers checked on suspicious vehicles at Center School and 43 Newcastle Road and confirmed the parties were just talking or resting. An area check at Westview Circle was also conducted for a possible solicitor.

Trespassing

A male was reported dumpster diving at 111 Foster St. but was sent on his way without issue.

Tree and Fire Incidents

Several large tree branches were reported down, including at 29 Rockdale Ave, 16 Spring Pond Road, and 8 Sarahs Way. The Fire Department handled a large electric store sign that fell at Dunkin’ on Newbury St.

Friday, May 23

Arrests

Erin Kathleen McGee, 43, of Oak Ridge Terrace in Lynnfield, was arrested at 7:52 a.m. on charges of trespassing, disguise to obstruct justice, resisting arrest, and two other department warrants at the Winona Pond Water Treatment Plant on Winona Street.

Jeffery David Brodie, 47, of Oak Ridge Terrace in Lynnfield, was arrested at 7:53 a.m. on a charge of trespassing at the Winona Pond Water Treatment Plant on Winona Street.

Alarms

Reports of alarms included a burglar alarm at 1:16 a.m. at Descenze Jewelers on Andover Street, an alarm at 12:25 a.m. at Fairweather Apartments on Central Street, a canceled alarm at 1:16 a.m. at BMW of Peabody on Centennial Drive, and other alarms at FedEx/Kinko’s, North Shore Plastic Surgery & Med Spa, DHL, and the Wendy’s on Newbury Street. All were either unfounded or canceled by the alarm company.

Area Checks

Officers performed area checks at Descenze Jewelers on Andover Street at 12:30 a.m., Peabody Place Plaza on Andover Street at 12:41 a.m., and Long’s Jewelers on Cross Street at 4:15 a.m. Officers also checked the area around the bike path on Russell Street at 7:27 a.m. and Beth El Cemetery on Lowell Street at 8:31 a.m. All areas were in order.

Community Policing

Community policing assignments included a presence at the Simon Youth Foundation at 8:03 a.m., Carroll School at 9:51 a.m., and Veterans Memorial Drive for a candlelight vigil at 5:35 p.m.

Disturbances

A disturbance was reported at 10:28 a.m. at Connery Elementary School on Elm Street, where officers mediated an issue without further incident.

Motor Vehicle Accidents

Motor vehicle accidents occurred at 2:02 a.m. on Andover Street near Wilson Square Citgo, at 9:51 a.m. at the Brown School on Lynn Street, at 1:46 p.m. on Central Street, and at 5:30 p.m. at Nordstrom on Andover Street.

Motor Vehicle Stops

Motor vehicle stops resulted in verbal warnings and citations for issues such as marked lanes violations, equipment violations, and inspection sticker issues at various locations throughout the day.

Saturday, May 24

Arrests

Christian McCullough, 30, of 29 High St, Everett, was arrested at 1:18 p.m. on Chestnut St on multiple warrants from other departments.

Luan Lima de Souza, 26, of 153 North St, Salem, was arrested at 9:54 p.m. at 24 Caller St for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and outstanding warrants.

Summons

Summons Melanie Marie McCullough, 46, of 2307 School House Road, Gloucester, will be summoned for operating an uninsured motor vehicle with a suspended registration.

Summons delivered in hand to an involved’s mother at 9233 Crane Brook Way. Summons attempts at 37 Paul Ave and 168 Washington St were unsuccessful, while one was successfully served at 37 Paul Ave.

Alarms

Officers responded to multiple burglar alarms throughout the day. At 12 Sylvan St, the front door motion alarm was investigated, and all was secure. Another alarm at 16 Castle Cir was canceled by the alarm company after contacting the keyholder. Officers checked on an interior alarm at 6 Centennial Dr, which was secure. An alarm sounding at 75 Central St was also investigated and found to be all in order. At 5A Fifth St, officers checked the building exterior and found it secure, and an alarm at 489 Lowell St was found to be secure as well.

Animal Control

Officers responded to a report of ducklings falling into a sewer at 288 Washington St, where the ducklings were safely removed. A report of baby raccoons at 259 Lynnfield St revealed the animals were gone on arrival.

Area Checks

Officers conducted checks of various properties, including Peabody Commons at 535 Lowell St and Priscilla Ln, and found everything in order.

Assist Citizens

Throughout the day, officers assisted citizens with various concerns. At 10 Abington Ave, a party requested to make a report, which was documented. A female at 25 Lynn St reported property issues with an ex. At 400 Brooksby Village Dr, staff reported a situation with a resident, and at 1 Newbury St, a report of an argument between coworkers was documented.

Disturbances

Officers responded to a disturbance at 210A Andover St, where a man was causing a disruption and had broken a SIM card. He was sent on his way, and officers documented the incident. A noise complaint for loud music at 50 Murdock Drive was addressed, and the music was turned off for the night.

E-911 Hangups

Officers investigated multiple accidental or unfounded 911 calls, including those from 210 Andover St, 119R Foster St, 300 Andover St, 243 Newbury St, 258 Washington St, 10 Newbury St, 33 Rockdale Ave, and 112 Lowell St. No police assistance was needed in any of these cases.

Fraud

A report of a scam during a motor vehicle purchase was taken at 6 Allens Ln, and officers documented the incident.

Motor Vehicles

Motor vehicle stops throughout the city resulted in citations or warnings for various infractions, including red light violations, speeding, and defective equipment. Officers also assisted with a repossession at 7 Dearborn Road and responded to a disabled vehicle at 50 Mt Vernon St, which was towed and held pending contact with the owner. Officers also investigated a hit-and-run accident at 98 Tremont St involving a snapped utility pole and tracked the suspect vehicle into Salem. A traffic hazard at 7 Beacon St was addressed, and an SUV was towed from 229 Andover St due to uninsured and suspended registration. Officers responded to two MV accidents at 232 Washington St and 210M Andover St, both of which were documented.

Suspicious Activity

Officers responded to suspicious motor vehicles at 210J Andover St, 545 Lowell St, and 545 Lowell St again later, finding no issues. Officers also investigated six teenagers bringing equipment into the woods at 8 Murphy Road and determined they were just building a fort.

Sunday, May 25

Arrests

William A. Silva, 70, of Peabody, was arrested at 4 Mill St for assault and battery.

Anthony Leon Tate, 65, of Malden, was arrested at Macy’s for shoplifting by asportation and on two outstanding warrants.

Carmelo Hidalgo Osorio, 64, of Lawrence, was arrested at Macy’s for shoplifting by concealing merchandise.

Alarms

Officers responded to multiple alarms throughout the day, all of which were found to be secure or accidental. At 300 Andover St, a motion alarm from the restroom was checked with the building found secure. At 4 Centennial Dr, a work room motion alarm was accidental by a maintenance contractor. Another alarm at 3 America Dr was accidental by the homeowner. Additional alarms at 5 Paleo Logos St and 221 Andover St were also secure, with no issues reported. An alarm at 3 McIntire Ct was determined to be accidental by the homeowner.

Assist Citizens

Officers assisted citizens with various concerns throughout the day. A female at 119R Foster St reported an issue with homeless individuals on the train tracks. Officers also assisted a party at 200 Jubilee Dr with lost prescription medication and documented the incident. Another preserve-the-peace incident at 6 Cashman Road was documented.

Building/Property Checks

Officers conducted area and property checks at locations including the YMCA, Extended Stay America, Logan Express, St. John’s Church, Tannery Gardens, Preserve North Apartments, Christian Book Distributors, and several other sites, finding all in order.

Disturbances/Noise Complaints

Multiple noise complaints and disturbances were reported. At 41 Walnut St, residents were advised to keep music down. Officers also responded to complaints of loud music at 75 Walnut St, the Italian American Citizens’ Club on Blaney Ave, and 150 Lynn St, with music turned down or no issues found.

E-911 Hangups

Officers investigated several 911 hangups, including those at 119R Foster St, 21 Albert Road, 32 Johnson St, 23 Tremont St, and 22 Johnson St. All were determined to be accidental or no assistance was needed.

Fire, Other

A fire alarm activation at 3 Manor Dr was due to burnt food on the stove. The Fire Department handled the scene and ventilated the residence.

Motor Vehicles

Motor vehicle stops throughout the city resulted in verbal warnings or citations for infractions such as equipment violations, speeding, and registration issues. A vehicle was towed from 18 Crowninshield St. A pursuit at 132 Washington St ended with a citation for lights violation. Officers responded to a minor motor vehicle accident at 150 Main St, with no injuries.

Neighborhood Disputes

A party at 20 Downing Road reported harassment from a neighbor. Officers documented the incident.

Shoplifting

In addition to the Macy’s incidents where arrests were made, there were no other shoplifting incidents reported.

Suspicious Activity

Officers checked on a suspicious party at 129 Newbury St who turned out to be an Uber driver resting. Another suspicious incident at 20 Central St revealed no one found on arrival.

Monday, May 26

Arrests

Christopher J. Silvestrone, 30, of Peabody, was arrested on Dark Ln on an outstanding warrant for drug possession and reckless endangerment of a child.

A juvenile was issued a summons for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and for operating an unregistered vehicle at 150 Newbury St.

Alarms

Officers responded to multiple alarms throughout the day. Locations included Dunkin’ at 527 Lowell St., Shawmut Communications at 310 Jubilee Dr, North Shore Plastic Surgery at 7 First Ave., Wheel Repair Specialists at 80 Newbury St., F B Packing Company at 5 Fifth St., Pinto Recycling at 147 Summit St., and several other businesses. In each instance, officers checked the premises and found them secure.

Animal Control

At 29 Joy Road, officers investigated a complaint of a large dog lunging at a small child and documented the incident for follow-up by the Animal Control Officer. Another dog barking incident at 4 Silverleaf Way was found to be resolved when the dog was brought back inside.

Assist Citizens

Officers assisted several residents throughout the day, including a suspicious bag concern at 168 Washington St., retrieving a cell phone at 1 Azalea Lane, and multiple neighbor disputes and noise complaints. At 23 Batchelder Ave., an officer mediated a minor dispute over a football going over a fence.

Building/Property Checks

Officers performed area and building checks at numerous locations, including the Northshore Mall, St. John’s Church, Holiday Inn, Leather City Commons, and multiple apartment complexes, finding everything in good order.

Disturbances/Noise Complaints

Officers addressed loud music at 150 Main St., Christian Book Distributors at 140 Summit St., and the Italian American Citizens’ Club on Blaney Ave, among other locations. In each case, parties agreed to quiet down or were found to be gone on arrival.

E-911 Hangups

Officers responded to several 911 hangups throughout the city. Each incident was investigated and found to be either accidental or no assistance was needed.

Motor Vehicles

Officers conducted several motor vehicle stops, issuing verbal warnings or citations for equipment violations, expired registrations, and other infractions. There was also a pursuit that was eventually discontinued for safety reasons.

Parking Enforcement

Several vehicles were towed from Washington Street and other locations due to parking violations. Additionally, a complaint about a car blocking a handicap ramp at 9 Tracey St. was addressed and the vehicle towed.

Suspicious Activity

Officers checked on a suspicious female seen walking on Washington Street but could not locate her. Another call regarding a suspicious vehicle parked outside a residence was found to be a DoorDash delivery.

Trespassing

A male party was found dumpster diving at 111 Foster St. and was sent on his way without issue.
