DANVERS — A sweep in the high hurdles by Kayley Burns (9.3), Makayla Kokonezis (10.0), and Tanairi Cassanairi (10.7) staked the Tanners to a 9-0 lead after the first event and Peabody kept its foot on the pedal the rest of the way en route to a 60-26 win on the road Jan. 8.
Other winning Tanners included Jane Haight in the mile (6:10), Maya Sutton in the 300m (47.6), Ava Champigny in the 600m (2:00.3), Avery Marcus in the 1,000m (3:37.3), Marley Lambert in the 2-mile (14:36), Allessandra Forgione in the shot put (38-08.5), and Kokonezis in the high jump (4-08).
Also placing in the meet were Tamara Kemigisha, second in the 55 dash (8.0); Victoria Vaz (6:36.8) and Emma Wardle (6:45), second and third, respectively, in the mile; Maddy Barrett, third in the 300 (49.1); Cat Holleran, third in the 600 (2:01.1); Lily Furcal, second in the 2-mile (14:58); as well as Maddy Holleran (28-06) and Ava Gonzalez (26-07.5), second and third, respectively, in the shot put.
