Change is on the horizon for Peabody, as it will swear in its newly elected leaders Monday, Jan. 5 at 7 p.m. at City Hall in Wiggin Auditorium. The event is open to all and will be livestreamed on Peabody TV.
Mayor Ted Bettencourt will be sworn in for another two-year term.
City Council will be gaining three fresh faces and swearing in eight returning members.
The newcomers are Ward 2 Councilor Wendy Lattof and Councilors-at-Large Jaclyn Corriveau and Jarrod Hochman. The returners are Ward 1 Councilor Craig Welton, Ward 3 Councilor Stephanie Peach, Ward 4 Councilor Julie Daigle, Ward 5 Councilor Dave Gamache, Ward 6 Councilor Michael Higgins, and Councilors-at-Large Anne Manning-Martin, Tom Rossignoll, and Jon Turco.
The School Committee will also have three sworn in Monday night: Beverley Griffin Dunne, Suzanne Cox, and Pamela Milman. Dunne is a veteran of the Committee, and Cox and Milman were recently elected to their first terms.
Tracy Valletti will also be sworn onto the Municipal Lighting Commission, and the following people will be sworn onto the Trustees of the Peabody Institute Library: Peter Bakula, Stephanie Dallaire, Caitlin Guyette, Cassandra Loizides, and Stephanie Najjar.
