On Thursday, Dec. 18, members of Salem Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division, working in partnership with members of the Lynn Police Department CID, arrested Derrick Poe, of 46 Mall St., apartment 4, in Lynn, on three counts of distributing a Class B substance (crack cocaine) subsequent offense, in Salem, following a lengthy investigation.
Based upon the investigation, probable cause was developed to obtain a search warrant for Poe’s apartment in Lynn. Salem and Lynn detectives executed the warrant and discovered a quantity of crack cocaine along with equipment to facilitate illegal narcotic sales. Also located during the search were two “ghost guns,” an extended magazine, and one stolen handgun. Based upon the results of the search warrant, Chastity Black, also of 46 Mall St., apartment 4, in Lynn, was placed under arrest as well. Poe and Black will face charges in Lynn District Court.
This case demonstrates the continued partnership and collaboration that the Salem Police Department has with its neighboring agencies to combat street crime and reduce the impact of illegal narcotics and violence in their cities.
