To the editor:
A wonderful Christmas/Hanukkah and Holiday Party was celebrated and provided by the Peabody Council on Aging at the Peter A. Torigian Center on Dec. 17.
We especially would like to thank Director Carolyn Wynn, Activities Director Laurie Nadeau, Volunteer Coordinator Kat Delomba, their staffs, all volunteers, the kitchen staff, and lost but not least Mayor Edward A. Bettencourt for such a wonderful party and delicious meal complete with all the fixings.
The festivities began early with an opening performance by the Peabody Council on Aging Drill Team with a stunning display of military maneuvers and music. Alan Labella Emcee later provided some grant entertainment. Our meal consisted of apple cider and buttered raisin bread, red bliss mashed potatoes, and green beans almondine. Dessert was tiramisu and coffee.
Mayor Bettencourt gave a very thoughtful speech and later visited all the people at their respective tables, wishing them a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Happy Holiday Season.
It was a great time, and we are all thankful to everyone who provided fos us, and we thank God for such blessings bestowed upon us by Him through the auspices of the Peabody Council on Aging.
Thank you,
Philip J. Celeste
