Fur the record: Meet Milo

September 30, 2025 by Elizabeth Della Piana

If you’re looking for a ball of fur with big green eyes so mesmerizing they’d make you fall in love in an instant, look no further than Milo, a 7-year-old tabby cat who resides at the Kitty Cat Cafe and Adoption Lounge, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

Milo is known in the cafe for his big “Disney eyes,” as co-founder of the cafe, Uri Harel, put it. Before arriving at the cafe, he was surrendered to one of their rescue partners: PALs Animal Life Savers in Salem. Harel also noted that Milo would do best in a one-cat household.

Those looking to adopt Milo should expect his fur to cling to their clothing, as he tends to shed quite a bit; however, he loves to be brushed.

Milo does have a shy side and may need time to warm up to visitors, but once he feels comfortable, his friendly behavior is on full display, and he will gladly sit and let visitors feed him Churus and other tasty treats. Milo was very gentle when taking treats from hands.

During the Weekly’s visit, Milo spent time dodging a camera for quite a while before deciding he’d allow some model shots to be taken of him.

He showed off his pouncing skills with a wand toy and was diving in and out of a tunnel he used to sneak up on his stuffed “prey.” Milo is also a fan of catnip pouches, which he clung to the minute one was handed to him. He also poked his head into a few backpacks and put his nose right up to the camera, showing off his curiosity.

Once his zoomies session was over, he quickly found a spot amongst cafe goers on the couch and settled down.
