Mayor Ted Bettencourt has scheduled several dates for free, curbside leaf collection. Free, curbside pick-up of leaves and other yard waste is scheduled for the weeks of: Oct. 6, Oct. 20, Nov. 3, Nov. 10, and Dec. 1.
Bettencourt said, “During these designated weeks, on your regular trash pick-up day, you may want to leave your leaves and yard waste in paper bags or barrels. No yard waste in plastic bags will be accepted.” He emphasized that “there is no charge for curbside leaf collection here in Peabody.”
Bettencourt added, “Please note that you may take yard waste to the Department of Public Services, 50 Farm Ave., any weekday during regular business hours. The Department of Public Works is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m.-4 p.m.”
