You know what I’ve been thinking? Four shutouts to begin the season is something special.
Before Saturday’s 2-1 win against Franklin, the St. John’s Prep soccer squad had yet to concede a goal through four games against Milford, Brookline, Catholic Memorial, and Malden Catholic.
The Eagles, looking to capture another Division 1 title in a few months, are 4-0-1 with 14 goals scored and one against.
Not bad . . .
Contributors have been everywhere, too. In a 5-0 win against Catholic Memorial, five players (James Minor, Ryan King, Noah Lear, Breccan Curran, JJ Koulalis) found the back of the net.
Against Malden Catholic, another three (Henry Barone, Marcus Obadai, Devlin Murphy) ripped their first varsity goals.
But between the pipes, goalie Matthew Droggitis will do just fine. The netminder recorded three consecutive shutouts to begin the fall.
Coach Dave Crowell and company, good week.
