Shapiro-Rudolph highlights adult day health benefits during Services Week

September 9, 2025 by Amanda Lurey

The Shapiro-Rudolph Adult Day Health Center – operated by Chelsea Jewish Lifecare and an affiliate of Legacy Lifecare – is celebrating National Adult Services Week, which is Sept. 21-27, with personal tours and individual consultations for older adults and their caregivers.

Attendees can see firsthand what a typical day is like at an adult day health center, and appointments may be scheduled any time throughout the month of September.

“Our Adult Day Health medical model program is designed to provide both older adults and their caregivers with the support they need to thrive,” said Eleanor Langstaff, a licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW) and executive director of Shapiro-Rudolph Adult Day Health Center.

She continued, “We offer much-needed balance and relief. In essence, our programs reduce caregiver demands and create opportunities for respite, preventing burnout while ensuring loved ones receive high-quality support and engage in meaningful social interactions.”

Shapiro-Rudolph offers programs that are uniquely designed to give older adults access to social engagement, health monitoring and wellness services – all while allowing them to continue living at home. And activities like walking groups, creative arts, volunteer opportunities and entertainment help keep participants healthy, active and busy.

“We know that many older adults want to live at home, and their families want to support them,” Langstaff said. “This program allows both to succeed – seniors get the social and health services they need, and caregivers gain peace of mind and a well-deserved break.”

To RSVP, schedule or tour or learn more information, contact Langstaff at (978) 471-5182 or via email at elangstaff@chelseajewish.org.

Additionally, there will be a virtual informational session Sept. 25 from 1-2 p.m. where people can learn more about adult day health and its benefits. To RSVP, reach out to Jill Hemeon via email at jhemon@legacylifecare.org or via phone call at (857) 337-8850.
