The ribbon-cutting celebration of 98 Café Bakery & Diner at 98 Main St., Peabody.

Peabody welcomes 98 Café Bakery

August 14, 2025 by For The Weekly News

Downtown Peabody just got a whole lot sweeter — and more savory! The Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to welcome 98 Café Bakery & Diner to its new home at 98 Main St., Peabody. This vibrant, family-owned business is filling more than just bellies — it’s filling a long-vacant space with energy, purpose and pride.

Owned and operated by Audrino and Audriana Taugino, 98 Café is the dream-turned-reality of two local entrepreneurs who began their journey baking from their home kitchen. Now, they’ve transformed that passion into a full-service café offering a mouthwatering mix of baked goods, hearty breakfasts and cozy lunches — all served with a side of community spirit.

Located in a building that had been empty for over a decade — previously home to North Shore Community Action Programs before their move to a larger space — the property has undergone a complete renovation. With retail on the ground floor and residential units above, this revitalization effort marks another important step in the continued growth of downtown Peabody.

“This is exactly the kind of investment we love to see,” said Deanne Healey, president of the Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce. “Audrino and Audriana’s commitment not only breathes new life into a long-vacant property but also adds flavor, character, and hospitality to Main Street. It’s a win for the entire community.”

Guests can expect a welcoming space, complete with chandeliers and a fireplace, perfect for catching up with friends over coffee, indulging in homemade pastries and breads, or enjoying a sit-down meal. And with free parking available directly behind the building, stopping in couldn’t be easier.

Small businesses like 98 Café Bakery & Diner are the heart of our local economy — and a big part of why downtown Peabody is on the rise. Join us in celebrating this exciting new chapter and come see (and taste) what all the buzz is about!

They celebrated their official grand opening Aug. 3 with free samplings and giveaways.
