With the North Shore Storm in their way, the Peabody Champions took down the opposition twice in as many days during the North Shore Baseball League postseason.
Sunday evening at Twi Field in Danvers, Peabody escaped, 4-3. At World Series Park in Saugus the next night, the Champions won by the same score under the lights.
In Sunday’s action, the offense was led by Cam Soroko (H), Jack Doyle (R), Shane Keough (H, R), Nolan Hills (H, R, 2 RBI), Rocco Ryan (R), Noah Staffier (2 H), and Jon Cahill (H, RBI).
North Shore plated two runs in the final inning, but it wasn’t enough to combat its four errors. The Champions outhit the opposition, 7-6, as well.
The next night, a three-run third inning did the trick for the Champions. Despite being outhit, 8-4, Peabody plated its eventual game-winning run in the fifth inning.
Hills doubled and collected three RBI to help catapult Peabody into the semifinals against the Beverly Recs (TBD).
