As the school year comes to a close at Bishop Fenwick High School, four students are heading into summer recognized for going above and beyond in their community.
Romulo Galleguillos, Class of 2027, received the Fenwick First Award earlier this year, an honor that recognizes students who lead by example. Teachers described Galleguillos as a student who represents scholarship in every way and someone who demonstrates leadership through determination, courage and honesty. In his quiet way, he sets an inspiring example for his peers. Galleguillos also received the English II and Spanish III Honors awards at the recent Underclass Awards and will begin his junior year in the fall.
Abby Jenkins, also Class of 2027, was recognized with the Fenwick First Award for her quiet strength, unwavering integrity and ability to encourage others to share and do the right thing. Teachers noted that Jenkins shows deep faith and brings meaningful thoughts to discussions, creating an environment where others feel safe to share as well. Jenkins plays soccer for Fenwick and will enter her junior year in the fall.
Bridget Goldsworthy, Class of 2027, was honored for her work with the Student Activities Council, where she brings positivity and energy to every event. Teachers described her work as unmatched and noted that she is always willing to help, inspiring others to be excited about activities at Fenwick. Known as a true friend who can share a joke or have deep conversations, she lifts others up with her presence and commitment to her community. Goldsworthy is a member of the football cheer team and will begin her junior year in the fall.
Sarah Zaimi, Class of 2026, received the Fenwick First Award for her dedication to serving others and being present for her friends, no matter who they are or what they need. Teachers noted that Zaimi has dedicated herself in recent months to helping the poor, joining the school’s monthly homeless ministry. She was also awarded the Bishop Fenwick Community Service Award at the Underclass Awards for her efforts both in and out of the classroom. Zaimi, a member of the National Honor Society, plays volleyball for Fenwick and will enter her senior year in the fall.
The Fenwick First Award recognizes members of the Bishop Fenwick community who go “above and beyond,” reflecting the school’s mission to build community, faith and character in and out of the classroom.
