Annual Torigian tournament scores big for community impact

July 1, 2025 by For The Weekly News

The Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce and Peabody Rotary Club held a successful Torigian Golf Tournament at The Meadow at Peabody Golf Course. This annual event brought together local business leaders, community members, and civic-minded individuals for a day of friendly competition — all in the spirit of giving back.

More than just a day of fun, the tournament serves a greater purpose: raising funds that are reinvested by both organizations, directly into initiatives that strengthen our communities through programs make a lasting local impact.

“This event showcases the power of collaboration between the business community and civic organizations,” said Deanne Healey, president of the PACC, “and demonstrates how a fun day out can translate beyond the golf course into real, tangible benefits for people right here in our own backyard.”

The tournament kicked off with breakfast sandwiches donated by Chick Fil A Peabody, hot coffee from Breaking Grounds Café and fun swag from our breakfast sponsor, Ellie Mental Health. The day ended with a delicious Italian buffet lunch at Capone’s Restaurant, followed by recognizing the first-place team Golf Lounge 18; second-place place Duffy Insurance; 3rd place Hurwitz Richard Sencabaugh; closest to the pin, Kai Nice from Ellie Mental Health; longest drive (women): Michele Feld; longest drive (men): Joe Capprini from Golf Lounge 18; and Golf Cannon winner, Tony Carson from Rockland Trust.

“We’re proud to partner with the Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce each year to create an event that’s not only fun, but also fuels meaningful community projects and supports those who need it most” said Cindy Moore, president of Peabody Rotary Club.

The success of this event is in no small part due to the businesses that never miss an opportunity to support local causes.
