Ymca of metro north raises funds for accessible programs in local communities

June 26, 2025 by Erell Renaudeau

The YMCA of Metro North is holding its annual Where in the World celebration and fundraiser on September 18, an opportunity for the organization to raise funds for accessible services and programs for local children.

Last year, YMCA offered more than $2.4 million in financial assistance and scholarships to families in the region.

Proceeds from this year’s event, YMCA stated, will support their mission-driven programs, helping to ensure that all children have access to quality programs and financial assistance.

The organization is active in the communities of Lynn, Melrose, Saugus and Peabody.

“We strive to create opportunities for all by prioritizing accessibility in everything we do,” their annual report reads.

Marblehead residents Dee and Kevin Colcord will be honored as 2025 Community Compass Award Winners, in recognition of their dedication to making a difference in the larger community.

“This event is always a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when we come together for a common cause,” said President and CEO Kathleen Walsh.

The evening will feature lively entertainment, food and drinks, and powerful stories of impact.

Additionally, the winner of this year’s Grand Prize Raffle is guaranteed a two-person trip to Paris, including five nights at Hôtel André Latin, a Seine River dinner cruise and private tastings.

The event will be hosted by Billy Costa, Kiss 108 and Dining Playbook, at the Boston Marriott in Peabody, on September 18, 2025.
