Interactive quiz helps plan perfect Salem trip

May 20, 2025 by For The Weekly News

SALEM — Planning your visit to Salem just got a whole lot easier—and more fun! Destination Salem is excited to announce the launch of its new interactive quiz and search tool, Discover Your Perfect Salem Trip, designed to match visitors with personalized itineraries based on their interests, travel style, and ideal experiences.

Whether you’re a history buff, cultural connoisseur, magic seeker, foodie, family adventurer, or curious explorer, this quiz helps you zero in on the very best that Salem has to offer. From where to stay and what to do, to must-visit shops and can’t-miss dining experiences, the quiz turns travel planning into a seamless—and personalized—experience.

After answering a few short questions, users receive a curated itinerary that aligns with their personality and travel preferences. The result categories include:

History Buff: Dive into Salem’s storied past with historic sites, walking tours, and maritime adventures.
Cultural Connoisseur: Discover cutting-edge art, museums, and local talent around every corner.
Muggles Seeking Magic: Tap into Salem’s mystical side with spellcasting, aura photography, and witchy shops.
Epicurean Explorer: Savor the city’s culinary highlights with food tours, rooftop bars, and gourmet treats.
Family Fun: Build a kid-friendly adventure packed with pirates, pizza, and candy shops.
Atlas Obscura Enthusiast: Unearth Salem’s strange, spooky, and wonderfully weird attractions.

“We wanted to create a tool that makes trip planning not only easier, but also inspiring and fun,” says Ashley Judge, Executive Director, Destination Salem. “Salem is a city with something for everyone, and this quiz helps visitors uncover their own experience of the city.”
