After 10 long innings, Peabody’s baseball team escaped Swampscott, 2-1, at Fraser Field Sunday night. Jariel Tolentino and Mike Murphy roped two hits apiece, while Joey Sinibaldi picked up the late win.
Days earlier, in a 9-0 win against Marblehead, Peabody jumped ahead, 6-0, after two innings and it was smooth sailing from there at Seaside Park. On the other side, Marblehead dropped its third consecutive game.
The Tanners were led by Murphy (3-for-4, 2 RBI), Ty Lomasney (3-for-4, R, RBI), and Tolentino (2-for-4, 2 R, RBI), while pitcher Max Silvia (6 IP, 4 H, 7 K, 5 BB, 0 ER) put on a show.
Greyson Leventhal (H), Ethan Harwood (2 H), and Colt Wales (H) compiled Marblehead’s hits.

Cam McCarthy’s four goals and assist lifted The Prep (14-1) to a victory on Glatz Field. Helping out offensively were Jackson Quigley (3 goals, 2 assists), Madden McGowan (2 goals, assist), and Beckett Lee (goal, 4 assists). Chase Kenyon won 15 of 20 face-offs, while Nick Schibli played well defensively.

The Prep (13-1) spread out the offensive wealth en route to a four-goal win against host Malden Catholic. Goals were scored by Thomas Randall, Quigley, Mac Crawford, McCarthy, Sam Kelly, and Nolan Convey. Kenyon won 7 of 11 face-offs, while Sam Pruell made three key saves.

The Tanners picked up a big Northeastern Conference win over the Magicians on home turf. Peabody avenged an early-season loss to Marblehead.
Leading the way for Peabody was Brooke Lomasney, who scored seven goals and provided three assists. Victoria Vaz (3 goals, assist) and Madi Barrett (2 goals, assist) chipped in goals. Ally Bettencourt, Bella Kassis, Sophia Kassis, Ari Alvarado, Leah Bresnahan, and Connie Patturelli all scored, while Caitlin Snow made 13 saves in net.
Maddie Forbes led the way for Marblehead with two goals and two assists. Kathryn Commoss, Gretchen Smith, Caitlyn Ryan, Zoe Dwyer, and Ramona Gillett all scored in defeat.

Bettencourt ripped a hat trick and dished out an assist, but the Tanners met their match Saturday. Peabody trailed by six goals in the third quarter before storming back.
“Then, the defensive core of Maia Davis, Connie Patturelli, Sophia Galbiati, Sydney Angland, and Caitlin Snow played lockdown defense and limited Lexington to only three goals over the remaining two quarters,” said Peabody Coach Michelle Roach.

The Tanners picked up a league win against the Chieftains – milestones included. Bettencourt (goal, 3 assists) and Barrett (2 goals, assist) each dished out their 100th career assist. Also contributing were Lomasney (2 goals, 3 assists), Kassis (goal, assist), Alvarado (2 goals, assist), Vaz (2 goals, assist), Bresnahan (3 goals, assist), Davis (assist), and Snow (7 saves).
