May 13, 2025 by Joey Barrett

After 10 long innings, Peabody’s baseball team escaped Swampscott, 2-1, at Fraser Field Sunday night. Jariel Tolentino and Mike Murphy roped two hits apiece, while Joey Sinibaldi picked up the late win.

Days earlier, in a 9-0 win against Marblehead, Peabody jumped ahead, 6-0, after two innings and it was smooth sailing from there at Seaside Park. On the other side, Marblehead dropped its third consecutive game.

The Tanners were led by Murphy (3-for-4, 2 RBI), Ty Lomasney (3-for-4, R, RBI), and Tolentino (2-for-4, 2 R, RBI), while pitcher Max Silvia (6 IP, 4 H, 7 K, 5 BB, 0 ER) put on a show.

Greyson Leventhal (H), Ethan Harwood (2 H), and Colt Wales (H) compiled Marblehead’s hits.

“Then, the defensive core of Maia Davis, Connie Patturelli, Sophia Galbiati, Sydney Angland, and Caitlin Snow played lockdown defense and limited Lexington to only three goals over the remaining two quarters,” said Peabody Coach Michelle Roach.
