Peabody goalie Caitlin Snow (11 saves) crossed the 500-save mark in the girls lacrosse team’s (8-2) narrow home win against Chelmsford, which was ranked No. 2 in the MIAA Division 1 power rankings during game-time. Brooke Lomasney (5 goals, 2 assists), Ally Bettencourt (3 goals, 3 assists), and Madi Barrett got the job done offensively.
“The game was led by strong defensive play from Snow, Maia Davis, and Connie Patturelli,” said Peabody Coach Michelle Roach. “I’m very proud of their hard work, excellent decision-making, and commitment to pushing until the last whistle.”

In a Northeastern Conference battle, the host Tanners trumped Swampscott Saturday. Lomasney (5 goals, Barrett (4), and Bettencourt (3) led Peabody’s offense, while the Big Blue received strong showings from Cecelia Tripp (2 goals), Victoria Pierro (goal), Quinn Kelleher (goal), and Lea Beatrice (assist).

Despite a seven-goal defeat, Marblehead (7-5) trailed by just a goal at halftime. Leading the Magicians were Kathryn Commoss (2 goals), Gretchen Smith (goal, assist), Caitlyn Ryan (goal), Zoe Dwyer (assist), and Molly Bullard (7 saves). As for Fenwick, the Crusaders upped their record to 12-1 and are currently ranked No. 8 in the MIAA Division 1 power rankings.

The Prep (12-1) enjoyed an out-of-state road win Saturday, taking down La Salle Academy (R.I.) by a goal. Will Crawford was the difference-maker and won 23 of 25 face-offs, while Jack Quigley (2 goals) netted the game-winner with 30 seconds remaining. Josh Haarmann, Crawford, Beckett Lee, Cam McCarthy, and Luke Kelly all scored twice.
