Peabody Police Logs April 29 – May 4

Sunday, May 4, 2025

Arrest

Christopher Santana, 33, of 80 King St., Peabody, was arrested at 10:29 p.m. on Lowell Street and charged with operating under the influence of liquor and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Alarms

Police responded to a commercial alarm on Andover Street at 6:42 a.m. and a residential alarm on Lynnfield Street at 9:13 a.m. Both were found to be false.

Disturbance

Officers were called to a loud party on Central Street at 11:30 p.m. The occupants were advised of the complaint and agreed to quiet down.

Hazardous Condition

A report of a tree limb hanging over the roadway was made on Lynnfield Street at 3:41 p.m. Department of Public Works was notified.

Motor Vehicle Accidents

A crash involving two vehicles was reported at 12:48 p.m. on Central Street. No injuries were reported.

At 8:16 p.m., officers responded to a single-car crash on Washington Street. The driver declined medical attention.

Suspicious Activity

At 5:27 p.m., a caller reported a man peering into windows on Hancock Street. Officers located the subject, who was delivering flyers. No further action was taken.

Arrest

David Archer, 42, of 25 Kosciusko St., Peabody, was arrested at 8:37 p.m. on Kosciusko Street and charged with assault and battery on a family or household member.

Alarms

Commercial and residential alarms were reported at locations on Andover Street at 7:10 a.m., Main Street at 9:21 a.m., and Newbury Street at 12:03 p.m. All were deemed false or accidental by responding officers.

Disturbances

At 3:10 p.m., a caller reported a group of teenagers being loud and disruptive outside a store on Lowell Street. Officers advised them to move along.

Police also responded to a neighbor dispute on Coolidge Avenue at 6:15 p.m. Both parties were spoken to and separated for the evening.

Hazardous Condition

A downed wire was reported on Winona Street at 11:34 a.m. Officers secured the area and notified the utility company.

Motor Vehicle Accidents

A minor two-car crash was reported on Prospect Street at 1:07 p.m. No injuries were reported.

At 7:40 p.m., police responded to a hit-and-run on Lynn Street. The vehicle that fled was described as a gray SUV. Investigation is ongoing.

Suspicious Activity

At 9:55 p.m., a resident on Northend Street reported a man lingering near parked cars. Officers located the individual, who said he was waiting for a friend. No crime was found.

Friday, May 2, 2025

Summons

Sean Pied, 31, of 47 Chase St., Apt. Lower, Danvers, was summoned to court following a traffic stop at 10:20 a.m. on Washington Street. He will face a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

Alarms

Officers responded to commercial and residential alarms on Foster Street at 7:10 a.m., Pulaski Street at 8:28 a.m., and Lowell Street at 9:44 a.m. All were determined to be false or accidental.

Animal Complaint

At 9:24 a.m., a caller on Shore Drive reported two small loose dogs running in the area. An officer located the animals and returned them to their owner.

Disturbance

Police were called to Pulaski Street at 2:11 p.m. for a report of a man yelling at vehicles. The individual was spoken to and moved along without further issue.

Fireworks

At 9:49 p.m., a resident on Winona Street reported fireworks in the area. Officers checked the neighborhood but found no active fireworks upon arrival.

Motor Vehicle Accidents

A minor two-car crash was reported on Andover Street at 3:17 p.m. No injuries were reported, and information was exchanged.

At 5:02 p.m., another minor accident occurred on Lowell Street. Officers assisted with paperwork and traffic control.

Suspicious Activity

At 6:58 p.m., officers investigated a report of two men acting suspiciously behind a closed business on Main Street. The individuals said they were waiting for a ride. No further action was taken.

Summons

Luis A. Rivera, 42, of Holten Street, was summoned after a 12:51 a.m. crash on Lowell Street for operating with a suspended license, speeding, and reckless operation of a motor vehicle.

Heidy R. Sanchez, 40, of Prince Street Place, Salem, was summoned after an 7:03 a.m. crash on Railroad Avenue and Central Street for operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

An unnamed individual was summoned after a 3:19 p.m. crash at Mini of Peabody on Andover Street for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Alarm – Burglar

Reports of burglar alarms at 2:10 a.m. at Perfumania on Andover Street, 3:54 a.m. at DHL on Centennial Drive, and 8:44 a.m. at Peabody Library on Main Street. All were unfounded.

Alarm – Fire

A brush fire was reported at 9:14 p.m. at Spinelli’s Function Facility on Newbury Street. The fire was extinguished.

Alarm – School/City Building

Two burglar alarms were reported at 12:12 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. at Higgins Middle School on Perkins Street. Both were unfounded.

Animal Control

A dog complaint was reported at 8:54 a.m. at Northeast Veterinary Hospital on Lowell Street. A stray dog found in North Reading was not accepted by local control.

Area Checks

Area checks were performed at 12:27 a.m. at Extended Stay America on Jubilee Drive, 12:39 a.m. at Congregation Tifereth Israel on Pierpont Street, 2:28 a.m. at Bishop Fenwick High School on Margin Street, 3:31 p.m. on Gates Road, 6:36 p.m. at Preserve North Apartments on Warren Street, 9:45 p.m. at Temple Tiferet Shalom on Lowell Street, 10:59 p.m. at Temple Ner Tamid on Lowell Street, and 10:59 p.m. at the Arboretum. All were in order.

Break & Enter – Motor Vehicle

An attempted break-in to a motor vehicle was reported at 11:37 p.m. at Toscana Forno on Lynnfield Street. Suspects fled in a black SUV.

Disturbance

A disturbance involving a car nearly hitting an elderly woman was reported at 4:19 p.m. on Batchelder Avenue. The parties were separated. Issue over parking.

A disturbance was reported at 9:08 p.m. on Keys Drive. No one answered the door.

Noise complaints were also reported at 10:23 p.m. on Crowninshield Street and 10:26 p.m. at Oliveiras on Walnut Street. Officers found no issues.

Fire – Brush

A brush fire was reported and extinguished at 9:14 p.m. at Spinelli’s on Newbury Street.

Hit & Run – MV Accident

A past hit-and-run was reported at 11:15 a.m. at Andover Street and Buttonwood Lane, and another at 8:41 p.m. at In The Game on Lowell Street. Both were investigated.

Illegal Dumping

A tenant was reported to have left furniture on the sidewalk at 1:35 p.m. on Mt. Vernon Street. Officer advised the caller on proper disposal.

Intoxicated Person

An intoxicated man was reported at 4:22 p.m. at Peabody District Court on Lowell Street. He was sent on his way.

License Plate Lost/Stolen

A stolen front license plate was reported at 9:46 a.m. on Veterans Memorial Drive. Entered into CJIS.

Lost or Found Property

Reports of lost or found property at 9:21 a.m. at the police station, 2:20 p.m. on Lynnfield Street, and 1:20 p.m. on Samoset Road. All returned or documented.

Medical Emergency

Multiple medical emergencies were reported and responded to throughout the day, including calls at Tucker Engineering, Sunrise Assisted Living, Swampscott Avenue, Brooksby Village, Barnstable Road, and others. Most resulted in hospital transports.

Motor Vehicle Accident

A serious crash at 12:51 a.m. on Lowell Street involved a flipped vehicle and injuries; one summons issued.

A minor crash at 7:03 a.m. on Railroad Avenue resulted in a summons for uninsured operation.

Other motor vehicle accidents occurred at 3:45 a.m. on Route 128 Eastbound, 10:57 a.m. at Central and Endicott Streets, and 6:28 p.m. at Main Barbershop on Main Street.

Motor Vehicle Stops

Motor vehicle stops were reported throughout the day at Foster Street, Lynn Street, County Street, Harrison Avenue, MacArthur Road, First Avenue, School Street, and Route 128. Citations and verbal warnings were issued for violations including unregistered operation, plate violations, and marked lanes.

Arrest

Jonathan A. Peterson, 38, of Washington Street in Peabody, was arrested at 8:55 a.m. for charges of assault and battery on a family/household member.

Alarm

Reports of burglar alarms at 4:57 a.m. on Andover Street, 9:32 a.m. on Jubilee Drive, and 1:46 p.m. on Main Street. All appeared secure.

A report of a fire alarm at 3:01 p.m. on Chandler Street. Alarm caused by cooking. Services rendered.

Animal Control

A report of an animal complaint at 2:12 p.m. on Northend Street. Caller reported a raccoon walking in circles in the backyard. Animal control notified.

Assist Citizen

A report of citizen assistance at 10:45 a.m. on Pulaski Street. A woman requested police standby while retrieving belongings. Services rendered.

Building/Property Checks

Reports of building/property checks at 9:06 a.m. on Lowell Street and 2:39 p.m. on Pierpont Street. All secure.

Disturbance

A report of a disturbance at 7:41 a.m. on Washington Street. Caller reported a man yelling at traffic. Officer spoke with the party and advised him to move along.

A report at 6:19 p.m. on Franklin Street. Caller reported a group arguing loudly. Gone on arrival.

Fraud

A report of fraud at 11:22 a.m. on Lynn Street. Caller reported unauthorized charges on a credit card. Services rendered.

Larceny

A report of larceny at 1:05 p.m. at the Northshore Mall. Caller reported a stolen phone. Report taken.

Lost or Found Property

A report of found property at 12:14 p.m. on Endicott Street. A purse was turned in. Logged and secured.

Motor Vehicles

A report of a motor vehicle accident at 8:18 a.m. on Washington Street. Minor crash with no injuries. Investigated.

A report at 2:32 p.m. on Andover Street. Two vehicles involved, no injuries. Services rendered.

Reports of motor vehicle stops at 8:55 a.m. on Washington Street, 10:06 a.m. on Pulaski Street, 12:42 p.m. on Route 128 North, 3:01 p.m. on Endicott Street, and 6:55 p.m. on Washington Street.

Shoplifting

A report of shoplifting at 7:02 p.m. at Macy’s on Andover Street. One female suspect fled the store. Mall security notified.

Suspicious Activity

A report of suspicious activity at 10:41 a.m. on Pulaski Street. Caller reported a man loitering near a dumpster. Officer found subject collecting cans. No action required.

A report at 9:36 p.m. on Newbury Street. Caller saw someone with a flashlight near parked cars. Area check performed; nothing found.

Unwanted Person/Guest

A report of an unwanted person/guest at 3:26 p.m. on Summit Street. Caller requested police help removing a former tenant. Peace restored.

Arrests

Stephan Allen Trotter, 40, of Washington Street in Lynn, was arrested at 10:52 a.m. for charges of operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license as a habitual traffic offender, failure to display a valid inspection sticker, and two outstanding warrants.

Emilio Lara De Jesus, 36, of Margin Street in Salem, was arrested at 7:26 p.m. for charges of attaching plates, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Alarm

A report of a fire alarm at 10:45 a.m. on Goodale Street. The alarm was set off by cooking. Services rendered.

Animal Control

A report of a dog complaint at 9:58 a.m. on Tremont Street. Caller reported an aggressive dog off leash. Officer spoke to the owner and advised on leash laws.

Annoying Phone Calls

A report of annoying phone calls at 6:24 p.m. on Margin Street. A woman reported receiving repeated calls from a blocked number. Report taken.

Building/Property Checks

Reports of building/property checks at 9:06 a.m. on Pierpont Street and 1:35 p.m. on Lowell Street. All secure.

Disturbance

A report of a disturbance at 1:01 p.m. on Mill Street. Caller reported a verbal argument involving multiple parties. Peace restored.

A report of a disturbance at 9:43 p.m. on Summit Street. Caller reported yelling outside. Officer checked the area with nothing found.

Fraud

A report of fraud at 2:12 p.m. on Pulaski Street. Caller stated someone used his identity to open a credit card. Investigated.

Lost or Found Property

A report of found property at 8:39 a.m. at the Northshore Mall. Caller turned in a lost cell phone. Logged and secured.

A report at 11:47 a.m. on Margin Street. A wallet was reported lost. Services rendered.

Motor Vehicles

A report of a motor vehicle accident at 4:28 p.m. on Central Street. Two-car crash with no injuries. Investigated.

Reports of motor vehicle stops at 9:23 a.m. on Andover Street, 10:52 a.m. on Washington Street, 4:20 p.m. on Central Street, 6:23 p.m. on Lowell Street, and 7:26 p.m. on Summit Street at Lynn Street.

A report of a suspicious vehicle at 10:38 p.m. on Prospect Street. Caller reported a car idling in the area. Officer checked and found vehicle unoccupied.

Shoplifting

A report of shoplifting at 7:15 p.m. at Macy’s on Andover Street. Mall security detained a suspect. No arrest made. Verbal no trespass issued.

Suspicious Activity

A report of suspicious activity at 2:57 p.m. on Sylvan Street. Caller reported a man walking through yards. Officer located subject and determined he was canvassing. All in order.

A report at 5:35 p.m. on Washington Street. Caller saw an unknown person peeking into mailboxes. Area check performed.

Threats

A report of threats at 3:39 p.m. at the Police Department on Allens Lane. A man reported being threatened by a co-worker. Investigated.

Unwanted Person/Guest

A report of an unwanted person/guest at 12:56 p.m. on Main Street. Caller requested removal of a person refusing to leave the business. Peace restored.
