ROUNDUP: No shortage of goals for Peabody’s girls lacrosse team

April 22, 2025 by Joey Barrett

Scoring goals wasn’t a problem for Peabody’s girls lacrosse team, which defeated Gloucester by a dozen goals (13-1) Monday. Ally Bettencourt, Brooke Lomasney, Ari Alvarado, and Alexia Morris all scored twice. It was a “total team effort,” according to Head Coach Michelle Roach, whose Tanners moved to 4-2 and 4-1 in the Northeastern Conference. Madi Barrett, Lomasney, Kassis, and Alvarado all picked up at least one assist.

Behind a four-goal, three-assist performance from Maddie Forbes, Marblehead’s girls lacrosse team (4-4, 2-2 Northeastern Conference) worked its magic against Peabody, 11-10, with Forbes netting the game-winning goal with three seconds remaining in the game.

“It was an incredible game and we are proud of how our girls showed grit and resiliency from start to finish,” said Marblehead Coach Annie Madden.

Molly Bullard made 11 saves, while Zoe Dwyer (3 goals, assist), Gretchen Smith (goal, 2 assists), Kathryn Commoss (2 goals, 2 assists), and Ramona Gillett (goal) rounded out the Marblehead offense.

Peabody’s offense was led by Brooke Lomasney (6 goals, assist), Madi Barrett (goal), Ally Bettencourt (2 goals, assist), Victoria Vaz (goal), and Ari Alvarado. Sophia Galbiati and Sydney Angland played well defensively, according to Coach Michelle Roach, while netminder Caitlin Snow made 11 saves.
