Through an effort championed by Rep. Thomas P. Walsh (D-Peabody), Peabody schools will receive $100,000 to provide students with the engaging and accessible programming of Science from Scientists, a non-profit that brings expert scientists into the classroom to foster students’ interest in biology, geology, chemistry, and more.
“I am pleased to work with Representative (Sally) Kerans to secure funding to provide for a special, immersive educational experience for Peabody students,” Walsh said. “Providing our students access to hands-on science lessons taught by scientists will foster a passion for science in our future inventors, biologists, and chemists.”
Science from Scientists (SciSci) is an award-winning, national 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that aims to teach and inspire the next generation to identify and solve real-world problems by improving STEM literacy.
