James F. Swales, 55, of Auburn Square, Charlestown, was arrested for shoplifting by asportation, second offense, and another department warrant at 5:48 p.m. at Macy’s Mens’ and Furniture Store on Andover Street.
Dorcee Ann Tallent, 53, of Warren Street, Charlestown, was arrested for shoplifting by concealing merchandise at 5:48 p.m. at Macy’s Mens’ and Furniture Store on Andover Street
Animal Control
A report of USPS not delivering the mail because of the caller’s neighbor’s dog at 9:17 a.m. on Elm Street. On callback, the reporting party said he is working with the USPS to rectify the issue; A report of a dog left outside for an extended time at 12:33 p.m. on Gedney Drive. Officer made contact with the homeowner, the person had let the dog out to use the bathroom.

The dog was secured back with the owner; A report of a raccoon family taking shelter on the deck at 1:16 p.m. on Endicott Street. Edward D. Breneman Jr., 43, of Riverside Street, was arrested at 4:44 p.m. Thursday for trafficking in 18 grams or more of methamphetamine, less than 36 grams of fentanyl, trafficking in +10 grams of cocaine, possession to distribute a Class B drug, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, marked lane violation, and improper turn.
