And the streak goes on.
The Peabody boys and girls indoor track teams clinched Northeastern Conference titles on Jan. 29 at home.
The boys defeated Masconomet, 55-30, to extend their stranglehold on conference championships to 18 consecutive years, dating all the way back to 2007.
The girls defeated Masconomet, 57-29, and Saugus, 70-15, winning eight individual events.
“The team’s depth was critical tonight,” girls head coach Phil Sheridan said. “The depth showed in two events in particular with Brooke Lomasney’s big third-place finish in the 1,000 (3:44.2) and Emma Wardle’s great kick to place third in the mile (PR 6:34.2).
Tanner winners included Kaylee Bunn in the 45 hurdles (PR 6.7), Tamara Kemigsha in the 45 yard dash (PR 5.8), Ella Braz in the mile (5:39.9), Avery Marcus in the 600 (1:47.8), Lauren Foley in the 1000 (PR 3:27.7), Jane Haight in the 2-mile (PR 13:24.3), Makayla Kokonezis in the high jump (5-00), and Alessandra Forgione in the shot put (35-06.75).
On the boys’ side, the Tanners won all 10 individual events. Winners included Evan Bedard in the 45-yard dash (PR 4.9), Michael Murphy in the 300 (39.5), Mohammed Lhassouani in the 600 (1:29.7), Declan Smith in the 1,000 (2:55.6), Brian Stevens in the mile (PR 4:52.0), Matthew McCusker in the 2-mile (PR 11:43.3), Peyton Smith in the 45-yard hurdles (5.9), Alex Jackson in the shot put (62-01.5), and Riley Michaud in the (5-08).
