The Peabody Recreation Department has released preliminary information regarding its summer programming. While the details are still being finalized, Rec anticipates that programs will be available for viewing on Rec’s website at https://peabodyma.myrec.com/info/default.aspx by mid-February. Please note that changes have been to the registration process and some programming. Registration for Peabody residents will only begin during the first week of March on the following dates:
March 4, 9 a.m.
Parks Program for entering grades 1-5 at the following locations: Jubilee (West School), Carroll Savage (South School), Lake Street (McCarthy School) and O’Connor Park (Welch School). LIT applications for children entering grades 9-11 are also available on March 4.
March 6, 9 a.m.
Tiny Tanners for ages 3-6
Teen Tanners for children entering grades 6-9
Brooksby Outdoor Adventures for children entering grades 2-7
March 11, 9 a.m.
All other programs (specialty programs), including the Peabody Basketball School with Thad Broughton, tennis with Maria Schena, softball with Tawny Palmieri, golf programs, pickleball, PYTV, Symphony Summer Basketball League, and more. Please check the website for a list of all programs.
The following changes have been made to the summer registration process for all parks programs, Tiny’s to Teens and Brooksby Outdoor Adventures:
Registration limits
To ensure fair access to our programs, each child will be limited to four weeks. If spaces remain after initial registration, additional weeks may be added starting April 1 at 9 a.m. on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Non-resident registration
Registration for non-residents for any remaining spaces will open on May 1 at 9 a.m. on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Program dates
Rec anticipates that summer programs will run from June 30-Aug. 22. However, that may change.
