The Northeast Metro Tech-Bishop Fenwick wrestling team had a strong showing at the state’s vocational school tournament, MA VOTECH States, last Saturday at Greater Lowell Regional Technical School.
The girls team had two winners and finished third with 57 points behind South Shore, which took the team title with 78 points.
The boys team had one winner and placed 10th out of 19 teams.
Shelby Galex (150 pounds) and Millie Buggie (114) the way for the girls with victories in their respective weight classes. Cassidy Robertson (150) and Erica Rodrigues (165) finished second and third respectively in their weight classes.
On the boys side, Jackson Cody won the 132-pound weight division. Nicholas Lopez finished fifth (138) and Charlie Berry (120) and Connor Tower (126) contributed to the team effort with sixth-place finishers.
Ben Cushing (150) won his first varsity match.
