While the Peabody/Essex Tech swimming and diving team may have fallen to Marblehead, 106-71, there were several positive takeaways from the Jan. 2 dual meet at the Lynch van Otterloo YMCA in Marblehead. Maddy Murray placed first and qualified for the sectional meet in diving with a score of 198.25. James Teague placed second in the 100 breaststroke with a season-best 1:14.85 and also placed third in the 200 freestyle (2:11.54). Patrick Connors placed fifth in the 200 freestyle (2:34.10). Aidan Rosell placed fourth in the 50 freestyle with a time of 28.68 and Mia Koulopoulos placed fourth in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:17.45. Ambrose Teague placed third in the 100 freestyle (58.29). Charlie Wise placed third in the 500 freestyle with a time of 6:19.23. The boys 200 freestyle relay team of Ambrose Teague, Dylan Wellington, Aidan Russell and James Teague inched closing to qualifying for sectionals with a time of 1:42.38
