DANVERS — The Peabody/Essex Tech swimming and diving team opened its season with a 102-80 victory against host Danvers Thursday evening at St. John’s Prep.
Ambrose Teague had a big meet, winning three events and placing second in another, while James Teague also won three events. The medley relay team of Ambrose Teague, James Teague, Charlie Wise, and Jake Deon took first place with a time of 2:01.75. Ambrose Teague won the 200 freestyle (2:18.38) with Aidan Rosell close behind in second place (2:23.83).
The Tanners swept the 100 butterfly with Wise taking first (1:09.69), Mia Koulopoulos taking second (1:16.09), and Seana Kane (1:24.50) taking third. Peabody/Essex Tech took the top two spots in the 200 freestyle relay with Ambrose Teague, James Teague, Dylan Wellington, and Deon placing first (1:47.87) and Patrick Connors, Koulopoulos, Wise, and Rosell taking second (1:58.13).
James Teague won the 100 breaststroke (1:16.75) and Ambrose Teague placed second (1:18.5). The 400 freestyle relay of Connors, Aiden Cusick, Justin Nelson, and Rosell came from behind to take first place (4:23.32).
Maddy Murray placed first in diving with a score of 198.62. Aiden Cusick competed in diving for the first time and finished third with a score of 94.58.
