Brooksby Village staff members gather to celebrate the holidays and receive their Staff Appreciation Funds (Brooksby Village)

Santa comes early to Brooksby staff

December 23, 2024 by Luke Acton

Brooksby Village recently distributed more than $274,192 to eligible hourly staff members through its 2024 Staff Appreciation Fund, the largest pool the senior living community has ever gathered.

Residents and staff gathered for a festive Staff Appreciation Fund event where the gifts, all raised by Brooksby Village residents, were distributed to the dedicated staff.

“The incredible generosity of residents who support the Staff Appreciation Fund matches the wonderful spirit of the season,” Philanthropy Manager Hope Moore said. “In turn, our team members have earned this recognition for their caring attitudes, creativity, and diligence. Together, they make Brooksby Village an amazing place to live and work.”

Employees across various roles, including dining associates, security officers, maintenance workers, and housekeepers, were recognized for their dedication to making Brooksby Village a safe and comfortable home for seniors.

Home to more than 1,800 residents, the community also fundraised $224,000 this year for student-worker scholarships. The funds benefited many of the waiters, waitresses, and hostesses at Brooksby Village who are pursuing higher education. Awards were distributed in June as $12,000 four-year scholarships.

The Staff Appreciation Fund allows residents to show their gratitude for the contributions of Brooksby Village staff in a tangible way, a gesture perfectly suited for the charitable spirit of the season.
