No. 35 Brockton took down No. 30 Peabody’s girls soccer team, 2-1, in a heartbreaker for the Tanners. Brooke Lomasney scored Peabody’s equalizer with 28 minutes to go, but the visitors slotted a game-winning goal late. On the volleyball court, well, they’re ranked No. 1 for a reason. Top-ranked Newton North (20-1) took care of Peabody (11-11) to bring an end to the Tanners’ season. First-year Peabody coach Sherrill Erickson shouted out seniors Carly Chouinard, Anna Goudreau, Emma Lynch, Addy Merrill, Ava Ruffing and Caitlin Snow for great seasons.

St. John’s Prep 28
BC High 0
BC High’s (6-1) perfect season was no more, as St. John’s Prep (7-1) took care of business at Glatz Field.
After a scoreless first quarter, Prep stuck first when quarterback Deacon Robillard took it himself for a 1-yard rushing score. Next thing you knew, the home team doubled up after Jordan Torbio’s 40-yard rushing touchdown.
In the second half, Prep decided to go the aerial route – twice. Christopher Vargas launched a 43-yard bomb to Pierson Scala for six. Then, Vargas put the cherry on top with his second passing touchdown – this one to Josh Haarmann from 5 yards out.
