North Shore Bank donates $10,000 to The Salem Pantry

November 5, 2024 by For The Weekly News

North Shore Bank has made a donation of $10,000 to The Salem Pantry, a local non-profit dedicated to fighting hunger and improving food access for families and individuals in need. This donation will directly support The Salem Pantry’s mission to provide nutritious, culturally relevant, and fresh food to members of the Salem community and surrounding areas.

The Salem Pantry operates a network of food distribution programs that deliver essential groceries to people facing food insecurity. With this donation from North Shore Bank, The Salem Pantry can further expand its services, including mobile pantries and community partnerships, which play a critical role in reaching underserved neighborhoods and increasing access to fresh produce, proteins, and pantry staples.

“We are deeply committed to supporting the communities we serve, and The Salem Pantry’s work aligns with our mission to strengthen these communities,” said Kevin M. Tierney, Sr., Chief Executive Officer of North Shore Bank. “By supporting The Salem Pantry, we can help reduce food insecurity and make a meaningful difference for individuals and families in our area.”

The donation comes as part of North Shore Bank’s broader commitment to community development and social responsibility. Through various outreach initiatives, the bank supports programs focused on addressing local needs, including hunger relief, educational support, and community enrichment.

“This timely funding from North Shore Bank supports The Salem Pantry’s efforts to reach even more vulnerable families during the holiday season than ever before,” said Robyn Burns, Executive Director of The Salem Pantry. “The gift will boost pantry operations and the purchase of fresh, healthy food to serve the Salem and North Shore community.”

For over 135 years, North Shore Bank has been serving the North Shore and surrounding communities with a commitment to providing outstanding financial services while investing in the well-being of the region. The bank believes that when communities thrive, everyone benefits. North Shore Bank’s donation to The Salem Pantry is just one example of its commitment to creating a brighter future for all residents.
