Thursday, Oct. 17
Arrest
Joseph Stubbs, 76, 23 Suffolk Ave. Apt. 2, Swampscott was arrested on Lake Shore Drive and charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, possession of a class B drug subsequent offense, equipment violations, failure to stop/yield and possession of a class E drug.
Suspicious activity
A report at 2:01 a.m. from a caller at Mobile Estates, 286 Newbury St. who said she woke up to someone at her front door. Officers checked the area and found nothing.
Animal control
A dog found in the area of Ellsworth Road was brought into the station at 12:55 p.m. The owner of the dog was notified by voicemail and the dog was returned to the owner.
A report at 6:46 p.m. of a barking dog left outside for more than three hours on Nickerson Road. Police could not locate the dog.
Assist citizen
A caller at 9 Pinewood Road reported there is rumbling under her house and she is afraid there is an issue with the gas line. The rumble was from a blast at a quarry.
A walk-in report at 4:57 p.m. from a male party inquiring about preserving the peace. The party was advised to speak to court.
A report at 8:07 p.m. from a Lincoln Road resident who said his wife took his truck out for approximately 30 minutes. He did not know where she was going and she won’t answer his calls. Police spoke with the wife who said she was doing errands and will return to the residence later that evening with the vehicle.
Complaint
A report at 10:08 a.m. of items dumped on the sidewalk at 32 King St. and 32 Ellsworth Road. The DPW was notified.
A report at 6:08 p.m. of a neighborhood dispute at 14 Collins St. The caller said a neighbor threw ice over the balcony at her. Police spoke with both parties and reports no ice was involved. The parties agreed to keep their distance.
Fire
A report at 2:59 p.m. of an odor of smoke in the building at the Burke School, 127 Birch St. There was an issue with the water heater.
Accident/motor vehicle
A report at 3:05 p.m. of a motor vehicle accident at 26 Aborn St. No further action was required.
A report at 4:39 p.m. of a disabled vehicle at Casco Road, Lynn and Lynnfield Street.
Wednesday, Oct. 16
Arrest
James T. Mulloy, 52, 50 Millard Ave., Wakefield, was arrested at 10:45 p.m. on Lynn Street after a motor vehicle stop and charged with operation with a suspended registration and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle. Owner will be summonsed for revoked registration, uninsured operation.
Disturbance
A report at 9:09 p.m. of loud noise coming from an apartment at Preserve North Apartments, 15 Crowninshield St. Apt. 401. The teenager at the residence turned down the music. Peace restored.
Suspicious activity
A report at 8:05 p.m. that four vehicles pulled up in the lot behind the South Memorial School, 16 Maple St. Ext. The caller said several adults got out of the cars and are messing around on the playground equipment. Police report that the parties have left the scene.
Complaints/motor vehicle
A report at 7:08 p.m. of several parking violations at Lt. Ross Park, 36 Johnson St. causing blind spots and making it hazardous for children going to and from the field. Officer reports there are several vehicles but the event is clearing out. Officer will check back later.
