Effective Oct. 1, many electronic payments made to PMLP will incur a convenience fee. Fees will be charged on payments by credit cards and e-checks.
There will continue to be no charge when paying by check through the mail, or at any drop box location throughout the city. For those who prefer the convenience of automatic payments, PMLP will continue to offer a bank draft program (EFT) at no cost. The form to set up a no-cost EFT is on the PMLP website (www.pmlp.com) “Ways To Pay” page. There is also no fee if you pay through your bank’s online bill-pay service.
Credit card fees will be assessed according to the amount of the bill. A full chart of fees is available on the PMLP website “Making Online Payments” page.
E-checks are a digital version of a paper check. The fee for an e-check is $1.00 regardless of the amount paid toward your bill.
For answers about these new fees, or for assistance in setting up a no-cost method of monthly payment, ratepayers may contact the PMLP customer service team at 978-531-5975.
PMLP is the community-owned, not for profit electric utility serving residents and businesses in Peabody and South Lynnfield.
