Connie Patturelli slotted the lone goal of the game as the Tanners’ girls soccer team took care of North Andover, 1-0, in a Sunday matinee. According to Peabody coach Andrew Douglass, Ally Bettencourt played well at both striker and center back, while Brooke Lomasney, Maggie Jolin, and Emma Wardle were “solid in the midfield.” Cara Corriveau and Marley Loring “came up huge for us on defense.”

Despite strong showings from Peabody goalie Dylan Flanagan, defender Jayden Lopez, and midfielder Luke Murray, according to coach Stan McKeen, his Tanners failed to find an offensive rhythm against the Panthers.
“Lack of scoring opportunities did not help the cause,” McKeen said.

Osama Mishal netted two goals with Jason Decost netting the game-winner as Peabody took down Gloucester, 3-2, on enemy turf. Murray, Kacper Kowalczyk, and Decost picked up assists, while Owen Brennan, Fabio Goulart, and Derek Collins played strong games, according to McKeen.

The Tanners proved to be too much for Haverhill on Monday. The score was tied at halftime but after some second-half adjustments from Peabody coach Jillian Tobin, her side started to find holes in Haverhill’s defense.
Kate Bresnahan opened the scoring off an assist from Chris Troncoso in the third quarter. Daniella White netted a brace, while Amelia DiBattista entered the scoring column thanks to an Elizabeth Moore assist.

Sophia Kassis made 23 saves to highlight Peabody positives, but Gloucester escaped with a two-goal victory. Leah Bresnahan, Panayiota Nikolouzos, and Moore tallied defensive saves for the Tanners.
“The team came out hard and our defensive unit showed its potential,” Tobin said. “Panayiota was a clear presence, shining in the effort.”

In a classic rivalry match, the Crusaders picked up a win in enemy territory. They started off strong, winning the first two sets 27-25, 25-23.
The Tanners made adjustments after the second set and started to mount a comeback. Peabody won the next two (25-16, 25-21) to force a fifth and final set.
Bishop Fenwick prevailed and stopped the comeback attempt, finishing Peabody, 15-13, to conclude the evening.

In tight set scores of 25-23, 25-22, and 25-23, host Classical took care of business against Peabody. Emma Chevalier (35 assists, 15 digs, ace, kill), Amanda Hughes (13 kills, 14 digs), and Mia Pento (26 digs, 2 kills, ace) led the Lady Rams.
“This was easily our best win of the year,” said Classical coach Chris LeBlanc. “We battled all night and got contributions from everyone on the floor. Hopefully, this is the type of identity-defining win that stays with us all season. [It was] a great team effort and I couldn’t be more proud of the girls.”
