Thursday, Sept. 29 saw seven individual wins and a tie for Peabody’s golf team (1-2). The Tanners picked up win No. 1 of the young season, 58-14, against Salem at The Meadow at Peabody Golf Course.
Tristan Joyce, Mason Clickstein, Joe Keka, Nate Palhares, Andrew Pinto, Miquel Torres, and Anthony Modugno all found victory, while Jason Houlden drew even. The Tanners don’t return to action until Tuesday, Sept. 10 in a road matchup against Marblehead.
Earlier in the week on Wednesday, Sept. 28, Peabody fought hard, but couldn’t prevail over a talented Masconomet team. Masco took home a win on enemy soil, 39.5-32.5
“It was a tough match,” said Peabody head coach Peter Cronan. “The team played really well.”
Despite the loss, several Tanners matched or bested their opponents. Mason Clickstein tied his match, 4.5-4.5, in addition to Jayden Cunningham and Anthony Modungo, who both tied their matches at 4.5. Joe Keka won his respective match, 5.5-3.5, while Andrew Pinto won his, 6-3.
