ABC Network announced the cast of the first season of ‘The Golden Bachelorette’ this week, which features a Peabody native.
Peabody’s Ken O’Brien is one of the 23 contestants who will be competing for Joan Vassos’ love.
ABC hopes to follow the success of ‘The Golden Bachelor,’ which premiered in 2023 and lasted 10 episodes in its first season, with its newest series.
Vassos was a fan favorite on ‘The Golden Bachelor’ and now serves as the first Golden Bachelorette.
‘The Golden Bachelor’ won Best Reality TV Series from the AARP Movies for Grownups Awards and was nominated for The Competition Contestant of the Year from the People’s Choice Award, Outstanding Casting for a Reality Program from the Primetime Emmy Awards, and Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Reality Programs from the Director’s Guild of America, according to IMDB.
According to his show biography, O’Brien is a 60-year-old property management treasurer. He is a marathon-runner, cyclist, and tennis player who enjoys watching ‘Ted Lasso’ and supporting Boston sports. He is also a big Miley Cyrus fan and his greatest dream is throwing out the first pitch at Fenway Park.
