A GoFundMe page has been set up after three members of the Callahan family were injured Tuesday when their parked recreational vehicle caught on fire.
Alan MacDonald, a son-in-law of Dan Callahan, created the page.
MacDonald said Callahan and his son, Danny Callahan, are both currently at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston being treated for third-degree burns.
Two medevac helicopters transported Dan and Danny Callahan to MGH, Fire Chief Jay Dowling said.
Dowling said Dan and Danny Callahan are both in stable condition, but remain in the intensive care unit for further treatment.
Danny Callahan’s son, Tyler Callahan, was taken by ambulance to Lahey Hospital in Burlington on Tuesday to be treated and was released later that night, the GoFundMe page said.
The three family members were working on their RV in preparation for a family vacation when it burst into flames, the GoFundMe page stated.
The page raised over $10,000 on its first day. As of press time, it has raised $34,537.
The cause of the fire is still unknown and is being investigated by detectives from the Police Department, fire investigators from the Fire Department, and state fire marshals, Dowling said.
