Peabody announces its Fourth of July celebrations across each Ward.
Ward 1 residents are invited to a Patriots Parade at 9:45 a.m. at Raddin Park with Ward 1 City Councillor Craig Welton.
The lineup for the parade starts at 9:30 a.m. on the corner of Blair Terrace and Lynnfield Street.
Other festivities begin at 10:00 a.m. at Raddin Park and include contests for most patriotic parade participant, a soccer skills challenge hosted by the Northfields United soccer club, a potato sack race, a hula hoop contest, a basketball free throw contest, a pie eating contest, and a 50-yard dash. Winners will receive prizes and a limited edition “We’re #1” shirts.
There will also be hot dogs, hamburgers, snacks, and ice cream from Treadwell’s for everyone at Raddin Park.

Ward 2, hosted by City Councillor Peter McGinn, is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Welch School and adjacent to O’Connor Park.
The day will begin with the singing of the National Anthem and a Patriotic Parade at 9:15 a.m. at the front of the school. Attendees are encouraged to bring decorated bikes, tricycles, scooters, wagons, or carriages.
Field games, pony rides, a balloon artist, face painting, art activities, and a photo booth will take place beginning at 9:45 a.m.
Kids can also explore a fire truck, see a police vehicle, play at the playground, and cool down in
a misting tent throughout the morning.
The event will include music, a free raffle, and prizes will be given out for the various events.
Lunch, soft drinks, refreshments, cookies, and ice cream will be served free of charge beginning at 11:15 a.m.

Ward 3, hosted by City Councillor Stephanie Peach, will take place at Connelly Park from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The day will start with a patriotic children’s parade at 9:30 a.m. Attendees are encouraged to decorate your bike, stroller, scooter, or wagon to participate.
There will be races, games, and crafts throughout the day and it will end the traditional egg toss.
Hot dogs, cotton candy, ice cream, and other food will be provided at the festivities.

Ward 4, hosted by City Councillor Julie Daigle, will be celebrating the holiday at Emerson Park starting at 9:30 a.m.
The morning will begin with a Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem, followed by a Patriotic Children’s Parade, DJ, races & games, arts & crafts, face painting, a bounce house, an egg toss, hot dogs, hamburgers & Treadwell’s Ice Cream, as well as a few other surprises.

Ward 5, hosted by City Councillor David Gamache, will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Lt. Ross Park.
A bicycle, tricycle, and carriage parade will start at the Kiley Brothers Memorial school at 9:00 a.m and attendees are encouraged to decorate for a patriotic theme. The parade to Lt. Ross Park will be escorted by a police vehicle.
After the parade there will be races, money in the hay, a bouncy house, face painting, and an egg toss.
At 11:00 a.m., pizza and beverages will be served.
There will be raffles and gifts for all the kids that come to the party.

Ward 6, hosted by City Councillor Michael Higgins, will take place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Symphony Park.
The event will begin at 9:00 am with a Patriotic Parade of carriages, wagons, tricycles, and bicycles looping around the park. Decorate your entry with a patriotic theme. Registration for the parade will start at 8:30 a.m.
Following the parade there will be music, field games, which include sack races and a 50-yard dash, a free-throw shooting contest, and coins in the hay. The playground will be open and there will be a moon bounce and cornhole boards.
A Rainforest Reptile Show will be at Symphony Park from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a collection of animals.
Lunch will be served starting at approximately 11:30 am with grilled hot dogs, burgers, potato chips, and drinks.
The event will end with the traditional egg toss competition.
