“We are thrilled to welcome Karina to Lynn,” said Kathleen Walsh, president and CEO of YMCA of Metro North. “Her extensive experience and proven leadership within the YMCA network will be invaluable to our staff and community. Karina is joining us at a pivotal time as we look forward to the development of our Youth and Teen Center spaces and as our membership and programming continues to grow in our new facility.”
Teixeira came to the YMCA of Metro North after serving as the Executive Director of the YMCA of Greater Boston’s historic Huntington Avenue branch which is the first YMCA in the country. Karina began her career at the YMCA focusing on child development, where she excelled in supporting and leading summer camp and out-of-school time programs. Most recently, as the Executive Director of Teen Development at the YMCA of Greater Boston, she has been instrumental in shaping the teen work vision across the association. Additionally, Teixeira has held the role of Director of Operations for the Oak Square Branch, managing a substantial budget and enhancing program quality and culture.
Teixeira has also served as the co-chair of the Latino Resource Network Group and supported global diversity initiatives. She co-chairs the YMCA National Achievers Network, offering strategic support for philanthropic, programmatic, and operational efforts for Black and Latino Achievers Programs across YMCAs nationwide.
“I am incredibly excited to embark on this new journey with the YMCA of Metro North,” said Teixeira. “My time with the YMCA has allowed me to help young people become socially responsible leaders within their communities. I look forward to bringing this same energy and dedication to the Lynn community.”
Teixeira’s leadership and vision will be invaluable as the YMCA of Metro North continues its mission to build a healthier, more connected community.
