The annual MIAA state divisional championship meets were conducted Friday and Saturday at various locations. Peabody High competed at the Divsion 2 meet at Merrimack College.
The Tanners’ boys team racked up 52 points and finished fifth. North Andover ran away with the team title with 111 points. Peabody’s Alex Jackson worked his magic and picked up another gold medal in the shot put with a heave of 57-11. He also finished second in the discus (176-04). Evan Bedard and Brian Stevens also had top-three finishes. Bedard set a personal best and finished third in the triple jump (44-10.5) and third in the long jump (21-11.25), while Stevens set a personal best and finished third in the 400 hurdles (56.92).
Alessandra Forgione was the top performer in the girls’ meet. She finished second in the javelin (122-10) and fourth in the discus with a PR 117-11.
