Peabody’s International Festival set for Sept. 15

June 3, 2024 by For The Weekly News

Mayor Edward A. Bettencourt, Jr. announced that the 39th Annual International Festival will take place on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in downtown Peabody. The rain date this year is Sunday, Sept. 22.

“The International Festival is Peabody’s signature community event and the biggest party on the North Shore,” Bettencourt said. “It is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our ethnic and cultural diversity through food, art and entertainment. We are grateful that North Shore Bank will once again be the title sponsor of this year’s festival.”

The International Festival is free and open to the public and has something for everyone. Along Main Street, a variety of ethnic foods will be featured among the many booth vendors. The Galleria Tent on Foster Street will feature artwork created by talented North Shore artists.  The Creative Collective is hosting the Artisan Market on Foster Street and has curated a selection of diverse creators from all over the region.  The International Festival Artisan Market will allow for many underserved small businesses to feature creations and wares from all over the world. Last but certainly not least, continuous entertainment will be featured throughout the course of the day on two stages.

Children and families will enjoy visiting the Kid’s Corner at the East End Veterans Memorial Park on Walnut Street. Music, arts and crafts, moon bounces, a magician, dancing demonstrations, and much more will be featured all day.

The Progeria Research Foundation (PRF) International Race for Research will kick off festival weekend on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024 at 9 a.m. On-site registration at the Leather City Common on Lowell Street begins at 7:45 a.m. The race will feature a 5K road race and a 2-mile fun run/walk – a great course for the serious athlete, the casual runner, families, and teams. This fun-filled morning includes awards and refreshments for all. Put your happy feet on and join us for the biggest and best road race in the city!

Booth applications, additional information regarding the event, as well as sponsorship opportunities, are available on the International Festival website: ifestpeabody.com
