The hot bat of Peabody’s Logan Lomasney continued on Monday as the softball Tanners defeated Archbishop Williams, 9-0.
Lomasney continued to show her power as she blasted another home run to make it three games in a row in which she rounded the bases. The senior went 3-for-4 with three RBI in the win.
Fellow senior, Abby Bettencourt, did damage in the circle and at the plate. Bettencourt threw a three-hitter in the shutout, while striking out 11. At the plate, she went 4-for-4 with a home run.
Peabody ended the regular season with a 17-3 record and now waits Wednesday’s bracket reveal (press time).

Acton-Boxborough ranks No. 10 in Division 1 girls lacrosse, but don’t tell that to Peabody, which checks in at No. 20.
The Tanners (15-3) went into enemy territory and left with a 15-14, nail-biting victory Friday evening.
Brooke Lomasney (7 goals, 2 assists) scored the winning goal with eight seconds remaining in an action-packed ending – to say the least.
“We went goal for goal,” said Peabody coach Michelle Roach. “They pulled ahead, 14-13, then Madi Barrett (3 goals) got the equalizer.”
Caitlin Snow (10 saves) picked up the 400th of her career. Ally Bettencourt ripped a hat trick, while Connie Patturelli and Leah Bresnahan also found the back of the net.
“Also exceptional on defense was our foursome of Kayla Landry, Maia Davis, Addy Merrill, and Patturelli,” Roach said.
