All senior citizens of Peabody and South Lynnfield are invited to an appreciation concert and luncheon hosted by the Peabody Veterans Memorial High School (PVMHS) music ensembles, and the culinary arts students, with sponsorship by the Peabody Municipal Light Plant (PMLP) and the Peabody Municipal Lighting Commission (PMLC). The concert and luncheon are planned for Friday, May 17 at 10 a.m. in the high school auditorium.
The concert will feature Air Force JROTC students presenting the colors and musicians from the PVMHS vocal and instrumental ensembles. Students in culinary arts will show their appreciation to the seniors by preparing a lunch of assorted sandwiches and desserts for all to enjoy.
“This event is a great opportunity for high school students to show appreciation for the seniors of the area, and for our seniors to enjoy the talents of today’s students,” PMLC Chair Ray Melvin said.
Senior citizens in the PMLP service area who are interested in attending the concert should arrive at PVMHS shortly before 10 a.m. Those who require transportation should phone the Peabody Council on Aging at 978-531-2254. (Space on buses is limited.) Additional information can be obtained by contacting John Maihos at the Peabody Municipal Light Plant at 978-573-1150.
The Peabody Municipal Light Plant is the community owned, nonprofit utility company serving the residents of Peabody and South Lynnfield.
