Northshore Mall welcomes ‘I Am More’ Mental Health Resource Center and Gallery

May 6, 2024 by For The Weekly News

Simon Property Group’s Northshore Mall, the premiere shopping and dining destination serving the coastal communities north of Boston, is proud to celebrate the opening of the I Am MoreMental Health and Resource Center. The community is invited to attend a special grand opening celebration Thursday, May 9 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in front of Macy’s.

The art exhibit explores issues in our community that may be difficult to talk about, but many people experience; putting a personal spotlight on mental health, cancer battles, postpartum struggles, and so much more. Now, for the first time in its seven-year history, the exhibit will open as a long-term resource center at Northshore Mall.

The gallery will feature new portraits by I Am More founder Amy Kerr, original artwork from Essex County student artists, middle school through college, and professional artists.

“We are so inspired by Amy Kerr’s amazing work and her commitment to the North Shore community,” said Lauren Dalis, area director of marketing at Northshore Mall. “We are honored to welcome I Am More back to Northshore Mall and provide a long-term spot for the public to experience this incredible exhibit and learn more about the resources provided by so many local organizations.”

In addition to the artwork and heartfelt stories, I Am More will offer information on free support resources including but not limited to:

  • 24/7 hotline for suicide prevention, domestic violence, sexual assault, substance use
  • Courses for caregivers of people with dementia
  • Grief support
  • Counseling for LGBTQIA+ youth
  • Addiction recovery support
  • Home visits for new parents
  • Support groups for postpartum depression

Representatives from local nonprofits will be available to answer questions during the grand opening on May 9.
