Symphony Basketball Leagues registration

May 1, 2024 by Joey Barrett

Registration for the Peabody Recreation Department’s popular summer Symphony Basketball Leagues is now open.

The program runs from July 8 through August 14. Games are held at 6 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Monday through Wednesday as follows: Monday, boys united grades 4-6; Tuesday, boys premier grades 7-9; Wednesday, girls united grades 4-7. The cost is $92 per player. All players receive a team t-shirt.

The Rec Department makes every effort to assemble fair and even teams. Teams will be made using the department’s software systems automatic generator. Players will be moved to other teams only in the event that siblings are separated, a child was not placed on a team coached by that child’s parent, or there is an uneven grade distribution. Team requests will not be accepted this year. Playoffs will be held during the final week of the season. Makeup games will be played the same week on Thursdays whenever possible.

Volunteer coaches are needed. For additional information or to sign up as a volunteer, email the department at peabodyrecreation@gmail.com.

Registration closes June 7 at noon. Early registration is advised as some nights may sell out. To register, go to https://peabodyma.myrec.com/.

Payments can be made by cash, check or credit card. If mailing a check, make it payable to Peabody Recreation Department and mail to Peabody Recreation Department, 50 Farm Ave., Peabody, 01960. Residents can also log into their Rec accounts to make payments. Program payments are due on the following dates: 50 percent is due on or before April 30; 75 percent is due on or before May 31, and 100 percent is due on or before June 30. A late fee of $10 will be added to unpaid balances as of July 1.
